Aussies take global stage
Australians are making their mark on the worldwide financial services stage with the announcement of two significant appointments.
Outgoing Financial Planning Association Chairman Corinna Dieters has been appointed to the nine-strong Financial Planning Standards Board, while Investment & Financial Services Association CEO Richard Gilbert has been named Chairman of the newly reconstituted International Investment Funds Association (IIFA).
Ms Dieters says she's looking forward to building the reach of the certified financial planning program. Currently there are 105,000 financial planners with CFP accreditation in 23 territories.
"There is a great opportunity to grow the number of CFP certificants globally as well as achieve better community recognition of the significant value of the CFP mark," she said.
Mr Gilbert's appointment as IIFA Chairman comes after the association's 21st conference in Sydney, during which members agreed to move to a new multi-member structure that formalises governance and funding arrangements.
