ASIC puts ClearView life adviser under supervision
A Queensland-based ClearView adviser has been ordered to undergo further training and supervision as part of an Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) enforceable undertaking.
Jason Churchill, of Churchill Consulting Services, was found to have undertaken inadequate investigation of a client’s insurance needs and their capacity to pay premiums.
He also failed to provide adequate product replacement advice and look at products other than those offered by ClearView.
The ASIC investigation found Mr Churchill did not assess the benefits of stepped or level premiums for some clients.
He must undertake training and remain under supervision for 12 months. He will be required to have every piece of advice audited by ClearView before it is submitted to a client.
