Superannuation assets rose 2.4% in the March quarter to $710 billion, according to the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA).

Its quarterly superannuation performance report says industry funds showed the strongest growth during the quarter, with assets increasing by 4.1% to $104.3 billion, while retail fund assets grew by 2% to $235 billion.

The growth continued to public sector fund assets, which saw a 2.4% increase to $122.7 billion.

APRA says corporate fund assets remained relatively stable through the March quarter.
