Applications open for women finance scholarships

Applications for another 12 women finance scholarships have opened as part of an initiative backed by the Federal Government.

Kaplan Professional is partnering the Financial Planning Association (FPA) to offer the Women in Finance Scholarships 2023. The scholarship program is part of a continued $2.2 million grant the FPA was awarded in 2021 from the Government to manage and deliver a scholarship program for women in finance and economics.

On offer this year are eight scholarships to cover the tuition fees of any two subjects in Kaplan Professional’s Master of Financial Planning or Master of Applied Finance; and four to cover the full tuition fees for the FNS60920 Advanced Diploma of Paraplanning.

The FPA has allocated Kaplan Professional $30,000 to part-fund the scholarships, with the education provider funding the difference. This is the third year in a row that Kaplan is offering the scholarships.

“We hope these scholarships will go some way towards reducing any barriers or financial burden that women of any background may face in entering the sector or achieving leadership positions,” Kaplan Professional CEO Brian Knight said.

Closing date for applications is March 24.
