The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) has awarded this year’s Making a Difference Award for life insurance to Swiss Re Claims Service Manager Lucy Hartley. 

The award was presented at the Group Life Seminar in Sydney earlier this month.   

Sydney-based Ms Hartley was praised for her proactive and holistic approach to supporting customers' mental health. 

“Any role that I can play to improve wellbeing across the community brings me great satisfaction. It's wonderful to be recognised in this way,” she said in accepting the award. 

“In the life insurance industry we have a unique opportunity to not only support customers on claim at their most vulnerable but work to prevent ill health for our policyholders.” 

The awards recognise insurance professionals who have demonstrated outstanding professionalism, commitment, achievement and passion. All award winners receive a prize valued at $500, a feature profile on the ANZIIF website and a digital badge verifying their award. 

The Making a Difference Claims winner is to be announced at the AICLA/ANZIIF Claims Convention on September 28, while the Reinsurance, General Insurance and Broking winners will be crowned at the ANZIIF General Insurance Breakfast on December 6.
