ANZ sheds financial planners

ANZ will get rid of 58 staff in its financial planning division, saying current market conditions have lowered the demand for investment advice.

An ANZ spokesman told insuranceNEWS.com.au demand for the service has decreased significantly over the past year, forcing the company to review its numbers of financial planners and reduce the number of roles by 10%, or 58 people.

“It’s now clear the changed investor behaviour is going to be sustained for some time and we have had no choice but to reduce the size of our planner group,” he said.
