AMP stalwart to leave after four decades
Executive Director of Financial Planning Steve Helmich will leave AMP in September after more than 40 years with the company.
He joined in 1973 as a junior new business clerk, and rose to hold a number of management roles in the company.
Group Executive Advice and Banking Rob Caprioli says Mr Helmich has made a considerable contribution to the group.
“He is one of AMP’s longest-serving employees and I’d like to thank him for his commitment and loyalty,” Mr Caprioli said.
Mr Helmich was chairman of the Financial Planning Association from August 2002 to November 2004.
In November 2007 the association’s board awarded him life membership, and in September 2009 he was appointed chairman of the Future2 charitable foundation.
He will continue in that role, and as Chairman of the international Financial Planning Standards Board.
