AMP Life director becomes group chairman
AMP has appointed Catherine Brenner as its new Chairman, replacing Simon McKeon, who resigned last month.
Ms Brenner joined the board in 2010 and until recently was chairman of AMP Life and National Mutual Life.
Interim chairman John Palmer delayed his retirement to cover the transition period, and has now resigned from the board.
Ms Brenner says she is dedicated to delivering better outcomes for customers and shareholders.
“The board and management team remain focused on the delivery of AMP’s strategy,” she said. “This was transforming its core Australian business to be more customer-centred, continuing its focus on efficiency and agility, and capitalising on its investment strengths and capability to grow internationally.”
Ms Brenner says the board is committed to expanding members’ skills.
“We have a highly skilled board but expect to make additional appointments to further strengthen our collective background, perspective and experience against the strategy.”
