AMP broadens Horizons in bid to raise education standards
AMP has introduced more flexible study options and increased practical experience in a revamp of its Horizons education program.
Entry standards for the new AMP Adviser Academy scheme have been raised to degree equivalent.
The course will be delivered over a six-week period by Griffith University and Horizons, and the number of students that can take part has been increased from four to six a year.
On completion of the course, graduates will undertake practical experience in an AMP-aligned practice.
The program is designed to offer a full year of professional experience.
After practical training, participants will receive an education grant towards a Certified Financial Planner, Fellow Chartered Financial Practitioner or masters in financial planning designation. One of these qualifications will be a requirement for AMP advisers from December 31 2019.
Head of AMP Horizons Amelia Constantinidis says the changes are the next step in raising professional standards.
“As we continue to improve professional standards, it made sense for us to look at more ways to work with independent education providers,” she said.
The first intake for the program will be on October 26.
