AMP and MLC continue to lose share
Leading life insurers face mounting pressure as recent entrants continue to grow their market shares, according to new figures from Plan For Life.
AMP’s share fell from 16.1% in March 2011 to 15.1% two years later, it says.
MLC suffered a greater decline in the period, from 15.1% to 13.1%. Suncorp dropped from 7.4% to 5.9%, while OnePath fell from 12.3% to 11.5%.
The winners have been TAL, CommInsure, AIA and BT.
TAL grew from 12.7% to 13.5%, while CommInsure’s share increased from 12.4% to 13.1%.
AIA recorded the strongest growth, from 9% to 11.2%, while BT increased from 4.8% to 5.5%. Zurich maintained its 2.4% share.
