AIG Life poaches senior executive from Tower
Tower Australia’s Head of Group Sales Craig Extrem will move to AIG Life after being appointed National Manager of Client Markets for the company’s insurance division.
He will take over the role from Damien Mu, who took on the role of Head of Group Insurance in April last year and has overseen the vacant role for the past 12 months.
Mr Mu told insuranceNEWS.com.au the role, which is responsible for client development and business development, is particularly important given the troubles of AIG’s US parent.
“Obviously it’s been difficult in terms of brand but at the same time we have had the most success we have had in the last 12 months in terms of insurance growth and we haven’t lost any client groups,” he said. “We are actually growing.
“There has been a bit of tension on AIG insurance but to have one of our senior competitors move across is a good sign in the market.”
