AIA, OnePath back AFA charity arm

The Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) says its charity arm, AFA Foundation, has secured partnerships with AIA Australia and Zurich-owned OnePath Life.

AFA Foundation Chairman Olivia Sarah-Le Lacheur says the backing from the two life insurers will help the organisation provide additional support to charities that assist people in need across the country.

“We thank AIA Australia and OnePath Life for partnering with us to help improve the lives of Australians who are doing it tough,” she said.

“Their contributions to the AFA Foundation will allow us to broaden and strengthen our charitable giving efforts.”

AIA Australia Chief Insurance and Investments Officer Ben Walsh says by teaming up with the foundation, the business is supporting efforts to significantly enrich the lives and livelihoods of others.

Zurich and OnePath Life Head of Sales Nathan Taggart says the insurer is “incredibly proud” to support the work of the foundation helping communities affected by the economic fallout from the pandemic.

“This initiative, and our long-standing partnership with the AFA, is another way we hope we can make a difference,” he said.

AFA says more than $2 million has been raised for charity partners since the foundation was established in 2007.
