AIA Australia has appointed Stephanie Phillips as Chief Group Insurance Officer, responsible for distribution, product, pricing and operations.

Ms Phillips, who has been acting in the role since June, joined the insurer in November 2009 and has held a number of positions in the group life insurance operation.

She spent three years with the corporate solutions team in Hong Kong before returning to Australia last year as head of group operations, then head of group distribution.

Ms Phillips has previously worked for super fund HESTA, fund administrator Superpartners and OnePath.

AIA Australia CEO Damien Mu says the promotion recognises Ms Phillips’ contribution to the business.

“Ms Phillips has been an asset to the company and has already achieved some significant milestones in her role as acting chief group insurance officer,” he said.

“She provides the team, our clients and our partners with not only the experience required to deliver on the strategic goals of the business, but also good stability and continuity.”
