AIA growth boosts staff numbers

AIA Australia is expanding its customer service team by recruiting 27 new permanent full-time positions.

The life insurer has experience strong growth during the past couple of years, AIA Australia CEO Damien Green told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

“During the past two years we have experienced significant growth in business volumes,” he said.

“These new positions, based in Sydney and Melbourne, will scale up our customer service areas and reflects our commitment to invest in our service delivery to our clients and partners.”

The Australian business has faced a degree of uncertainty during the past year with a possible sale and the float of its parent being postponed, although now it is going ahead.

“For us during that period it has been business as usual,” Mr Green said. “But now we can focus on getting on with the job and investing in the business.”

He has not ruled out further expansion of its customer support team in the future.

“As a partnering organisation, it is imperative for us to continue to deliver the type of service that meets and exceeds our customer’s expectations,” Mr Green said.

“We will continue to structure our teams in a way that most effectively supports our business partners.”
