AIA Australia has expanded its executive team with two new roles and the appointment of a new CFO.

The new roles of Chief Health Insurance Officer and Chief Strategy Officer will be filled by Harry Efthimiou and Tim Tez respectively.

Mr Efthimiou has been with AIA since 2010 as CFO and chief finance and strategy officer.

Mr Tez has rejoined AIA from MetLife with responsibility for strategy, corporate affairs and government relations in Australia and New Zealand. He was previously at AIA for five years from 2009 as chief marketing officer.

Michael Chernov has been appointed CFO for Australia and New Zealand. He is a qualified actuary and joined AIA in 2009 from Munich Re in the UK.

AIA Australia CEO Damien Mu says the new positions have been specifically set up to provide strong support for AIA’s business opportunities in the life and health insurance sectors.
