AIA adviser summit packs full agenda

The AIA Australia annual adviser three-day summit starting tomorrow at the Australian National Maritime Museum has a packed agenda with speakers set to discuss regulatory changes and other challenges facing the industry.

Shadow Assistant Treasurer and Shadow Minister for Financial Services Stuart Robert will kick off the summit with an interview following a welcome address from AIA CEO Damien Mu.

Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) National President Sam Perera and Financial Planning Association (FPA) CEO Sarah Abood will present in the afternoon, where they are widely expected to share more about the merger of the two peak bodies. AFA and FPA members recently voted in favour for the two bodies to join forces as one lobby group.

Council of Australian Life Insurers CEO Christine Cupitt will present in the afternoon on the new peak body, which was created last year to advocate on behalf of the industry.

The summit will focus on business development topics on Wednesday and on Thursday Australian tennis legend Ash Barty will take to the stage in her role as AIA Ambassador.
