Australian Financial Services Group (AFS) has appointed Bombora Advice director Alan Logan as its new CEO.

Bombora is a private consultancy specialising in distribution, organisation and technology in the wealth management industry.

Mr Logan has also served as GM for ANZ financial services advice and distribution division and has held management roles at MLC, BT, Sealcorp and National Mutual.

He replaces Peter Daly, who was dismissed in May.

AFS Director Phil Burke says the selection has taken longer than expected because the board undertook an extensive recruitment process.

“The board wanted a CEO with the right blend of leadership, commercial and personal skills and broad, ‘hands-on’ financial services expertise,” he said.

“Mr Logan has more than 22 years’ distribution and general management financial services experience.

“He is also acknowledged for his track record of success in developing and implementing business improvement and transformational strategies.”
