The Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) has named six finalists for its adviser of the year award and six contenders for the rising star prize.

Adviser of the year finalists are:

• Justine Back, Back to Back Financial Planners, NSW
• Jenny Brown, JBS Financial Strategists, Victoria
• Kylie Wright, Ulton Financial Planning, Qld
• Mark Rando, Rando & Associates, WA
• Rory Mooney, Wealth by Design, SA
• William Bracey, Sydney Financial Planning, NSW.

AFA CEO Brad Fox says entrants are judged on education, experience and their contribution to the industry.

Rising star of the year finalists are:

• Kylie George, Harvest Wealth, Victoria
• Ravi Agarwal, Mediq Financial Services, Victoria
• Mark Wyld, MW Wealth Management, Victoria
• James Jagodnik, Stanford Brown, NSW
• Peter Khoury, National Financial Advisers, NSW
• Tatiana Coulter, Monarch Advisory Group, NSW.

The winners will be announced at the AFA national conference on the Gold Coast next month.
