AFA elects new president
Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) stalwart Marc Bineham has been elected President of the group, effective next month.
He replaces Deborah Kent, who has been made Treasurer, while former president Michael Nowak was elected VP.
Two state directors were returned unopposed – Dave Slovinec in SA and James Ford in WA.
In NSW Jeff Thurecht was re-elected as state director, while Tim Ross becomes director for Queensland. Sam Robinson is the new Victorian director.
Tasmanian director Matthew Hawkins was not required to stand for election, having served only one year of his two-year term.
Only 30% of the AFA’s membership took part in the elections. The new board will serve for two years after the annual general meeting in Canberra next month.
