AFA advice campaign a step closer
The Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) has raised enough funds to move to the business planning stage of its “Make a Plan” consumer campaign.
AFA CEO Richard Klipin says financial pledges to the campaign have come from both advisers and product manufacturers.
He declined to disclose to insuranceNEWS.com.au how much has been raised, saying the association is still assessing the applications.
“We have raised a number of pledges to support the campaign which have come from advisers, dealer groups and product manufacturers,” he said.
“This will enable us to put together a business plan for the campaign and we will take this to the members in January.”
The campaign aims to counter the negative perceptions consumers have about the value of seeking financial advice.
Mr Klipin says he has no problems with product manufacturers contributing to the campaign as they will benefit from any increased levels of consumer interest in obtaining advice.
“This campaign is about encouraging more people to seek advice, and this will deliver value to our members leading to more business flowing through to the product manufacturers,” he said.
“We want more people seeking advice, so then everybody will benefit.”
