AFA adds to advocacy team

The Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) has bolstered its advocacy team with the appointment of Troy Nutley as Senior Adviser, Policy and Professionalism.

The new position reports to GM Policy, Professionalism and Marketing Samantha Clarke.

Mr Nutley will be responsible for research, development and documentation of the association’s public policy and professionalism agenda.

He has been a professional standards consultant for Centrepoint Alliance for the past two years, and before that he was a case manager at the Financial Ombudsman Service.

AFA CEO Brad Fox says Mr Nutley has an extensive background in understanding consumers. “During a period of seven years Troy had first-hand experience of consumer disputes and played an important role in helping to resolve them,” he said.

The AFA has also appointed Peter Windle as GM Financial Operations.

He was previously COO Asia-Pacific for CT Partners, and has worked as COO for a number of professional services companies in Australia.

“He brings with him a high level of financial management experience and business operations capability, and is a welcome addition to the AFA’s senior management team,” Mr Fox said.

The association has also appointed Natasha Raleigh as Events Associate, responsible for the planning and delivery of AFA events.
