Advisers urged to nominate Future2 fund recipients
The Financial Planning Association (FPA) wants members to identify non-profits and charities that could benefit from Future2 grants.
The grants aim to help young Australians facing disadvantages such as homelessness, poverty addiction, social exclusion and disability.
Recipient groups can apply for one-year grants up to $10,000 or multi-year grants up to $30,000. Applications close on August 1.
Future2 grants committee chairman Corinna Dieters says the FPA’s charity fund wants members to become more involved.
“We want FPA members to take ownership of the grant application process by identifying local non-profits and charities,” she said.
“The advisers will invite the non-profit to complete the grant application, support it with a personal statement and submit to Future2.”
Ms Dieters says advisers may already be involved with groups through mentoring, board directorships or in some voluntary capacity.
“Community organisations that have no existing relationships are encouraged to get in touch with an FPA member well ahead of the closing date for applications,” she said.
The grants will be announced on November 24 at the FPA Professionals Congress in Perth.
