Advisers to help more disadvantaged youths

The Financial Planning Association’s Future2 charitable foundation has called for grant applications under its Make the Difference! program.

The grants support projects that help disadvantaged young Australians.

Local FPA members must be involved in applications from community non-profit organisations and charities.

Future2 grants committee chairman Corinna Dieters says the number of quality applications for funding rises each year, making allocation of grants more difficult.

“Applications received this year indicate the need for funding support is greater than ever,” she said. “Through a disciplined review process, we try to ensure the grant money goes where it can be most effectively applied for the benefit of young Australians who are at risk.”

Funds committed this year will take the total awarded since 2007 to $540,000.

All grants must be submitted by July 31, with the award announcements to follow on November 19 during the FPA Professionals Congress in Brisbane.
