Advisers show their generosity
The Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) has raised $12,000 for its charity foundation after members dug deep at roadshow events in Hobart, Adelaide and Perth last week.
The beneficiaries are Ronald McDonald House, helping the families of sick children in Tasmania; The Smith Family in SA, which supports disadvantaged youths; and veterans’ group Legacy in WA.
CEO Brad Fox says the foundation helps to improve the public’s perception and understanding of the advice profession.
“Making people aware of how advisers contribute to improving the lives of those less fortunate through the AFA Foundation is an important part of that.”
The foundation has raised about $600,000 for charities in the past eight years, and hopes for more donations at this week’s roadshows in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
