Advisers drive Macquarie Life changes

Macquarie Life has merged its Super Protector and FutureWise products after adviser feedback.

The insurer says the move will make it easier for advisers to write life insurance cover both inside and outside superannuation.

Disability income, life and temporary and permanent disability cover through FutureWise will now be available on Macquarie Wrap when linked to a superannuation account.

Improvements have also been made to the claims processes of FutureWise and Macquarie Life Active’s income protection products, the company says.

The insurer’s ClaimsConnect process, which uses a team of qualified nurses to complete claim forms over the telephone with the client, has also been enhanced.

Head of Macquarie Life Justin Delaney says all these changes were driven by adviser feedback and the company is committed to continual review of its services.

“Through this latest series of updates, we have introduced greater choice and flexibility by introducing new options within our product suite.”

Changes to the life insurer’s underwriting services has seen the removal of personal medical attendant reports, except when higher levels of cover are required. This will then require a medical examination by the client’s own doctor.
