Zurich Insurance Group’s CEO of General Insurance Mike Kerner is to step down for personal reasons, the insurer has announced.

Kristof Terryn, currently CEO of Global Life, will take over Mr Kerner’s position from October 1. Mr Terryn, who has held a number of senior positions including group head of operations and general insurance COO, will continue to run the life business until a replacement is found.

Group CEO Martin Senn has thanked Mr Kerner for his “dedication and service” over 23 years.
