Your research could be worth money
The prestigious Geneva Association has teamed up with British magazine Global Reinsurance to establish awards for research into risk.
An eminent panel of experts will identify the best paper in each of 10 categories, with the winners to be announced at a dinner during the annual reinsurance industry rendezvous in Monte Carlo in September. The most outstanding paper overall will be awarded the Lumina Award for outstanding research, which includes a cash prize of £5000.
Interested Australians are encouraged to submit an original paper to present research findings in one of these categories:
• economic and financial theory pertaining to the re/insurance sector
• risk modelling
• hazard
• risk transfer
• business management and risk
• environmental risk
• converging markets
• globalisation
• re/insurance law and regulation
• technology
Apart from the financial rewards for an outstanding paper, it could be a great career move. Successful researchers will enjoy global exposure to the industry’s leaders.
Not surprisingly, the Monte Carlo Rendezvous is the major annual international meeting of the most influential insurers, reinsurers, brokers and reinsurance consultants. More details on www.lumina-awards.com or jo@southern-magazines.co.uk
