WTW records Q1 income gain

Willis Towers Watson’s first-quarter net income increased by $US72 million ($102.63 million) compared with the corresponding period last year, totalling $US293 million ($417.54 million).

It says the jump was due to seasonally strong renewal periods for some lines.

Revenue was up 1%. Corporate risk and broking revenue fell 2% to $US728 million ($1.04 billion), while investment risk and reinsurance revenue increased 3% to $US589 million ($839.58 million).
