Willis works out what it’s worth

Number three mega-broker Willis Group raised about $530 million last week by selling a 14% stake to investors.

The successful sale was good news for the company’s majority owners, the famous corporate buyout specialists Kohlberg, Kravis and Roberts (KKR). They paid about $2 billion for a 64% slice of the Willis Corroon group three years ago.

Willis is no longer a British-based company. It now has its HQ in Bermuda.
