Willis announces profit and operational review
Global broker Willis is reviewing its operations after announcing a net income rise of 4% to $US455 million ($453 million) for the year to December 31.
The company says it is reviewing all businesses this quarter to position itself for growth and better align its resources with its expansion strategies.
Commissions and fees rose by 3% to $US3.3 billion ($3.29 billion) for 2010 and operating income was up 8.5% to $US753 million ($750 million).
Willis reported 4% organic growth in commissions and fees compared with the previous year, with growth everywhere except North America, where business was flat.
The company says soft insurance market conditions and ongoing weakness in the US economy continue to impact its North America operations.
