US insurance jobs on the slide
The number of jobs in the US insurance sector fell 2.3% in February from the previous month, the country’s Bureau of Labor Statistics has reported.
The figures were released in a report showing US employers slashed 63,000 jobs overall in February – the most jobs lost in five years – indicating a stark sign the country is heading towards recession.
Despite the monthly decline, the sector still employs 16,000 more people than a year ago.
