Urgent calls for aviation pool

As one European country cut its airlines off from government-back terrorism cover, aviation insurers are calling on the British Government not to follow suit. They want a permanent aviation pool. The concern follows the Swedish Government’s decision to cut terrorism cover to airlines, saying they will have to decide how and where they find cover.

The underwriters say that while the commercial market has the resources to cover the primary layer, a pool is still needed after that.
