British brokers are staging a comeback in the motor personal lines market but are seeing their share of the SME market decline, says a leading research provider.

A Defaqto report details brokers’ resurgence in the car sector, thanks to their embrace of online “aggregator” sites.

But competition in the SME market from companies such as Direct Line means brokers will have to relinquish some control of this lucrative sector, the report says.
