AmBank Group has appointed Travis Atkinson as CEO of IAG’s Malaysian joint venture partners, AmG Insurance and Kurnia Insurans (Malaysia).

Mr Atkinson was formerly EGM of business partners at IAG’s New Zealand business, responsible for the financial institution, niche motor, travel and direct personal lines portfolios.

He replaces Duncan Brain, who held the position since 2010 and will continue to serve as a director on both companies’ boards. Mr Brain will stay on as IAG’s Head of Southeast Asia.

IAG’s Malaysian associate AmG acquired the general insurance business of Kurnia this year for RM1.55 billion ($488 million).
