Europe-based Thistle Insurance Services, part of the JLT Group, has appointed UK industry veteran Paul Williams as MD.

Mr Williams has more than 25 years’ experience in the UK insurance industry, including positions with broker Brightside Group, where he was CEO, Towergate Partnership and Hill House Hammond, part of Aviva.

Thistle Chairman Martin Hiller says Mr Williams’ experience will be of great value.

“His knowledge of specialist niches, managing general agents and the digital landscape will be a great asset as we continue to grow the business,” he said.

Mr Williams says he is looking forward to working with the executive team.

“I am attracted by the potential of Thistle, which has a track record of developing and distributing market-leading products.”
