Team gets job to improve Lloyd’s culture

Lloyd’s has published a list of the 14 members who make up its new Culture Advisory Group, set up as part of a comprehensive drive for behavioural change in the market.

Expert advice will be provided by the group as Lloyd’s seeks “measurable change” in the wake of a survey last year which found around 480 participants stating they had witnessed sexual harassment in the Lloyd’s marketplace, and more than 2200 saying they did not know how to report concerns.

Its inaugural meeting took place on January 30 and regular meetings are scheduled throughout the year.

“We are privileged to bring together such an accomplished group of experts and industry leaders,” Lloyd’s board member Fiona Luck, who will chair the new group, said. “I believe that the combination of their insights and experience, along with the strong commitment from our senior leadership team at Lloyd’s will drive real cultural change.”

The new advisory team would help create a culture of integrity, respect and inclusion, she said.

Measures Lloyd’s has undertaken include a gender balance plan, drawing up standards of business conduct, a “Speaking Up” campaign, an enhanced focus on wellbeing and a “culture dashboard” designed to track key metrics.

Progress will be published each year in Lloyd’s annual report.
