Swiss Re is restructuring its leadership team from the top down in a bid to keep up with customer expectations.

The move aims to further the company’s marketing power and strengthening its core capabilities in three key areas – reinsurance, corporate solutions and “administrative reinsurance”.

Corporate Solutions covers all Swiss Re’s insurance-related offerings and replaces the insurance and specialty, industrial risk and commercial insurance sections.

Administrative reinsurance, or Admin Re, covers the life and health insurance business, including acquisition or reinsurance.

Agostino Galvagni has taken over as CEO of Corporate Solutions, while David Blumer will continue as CIO but will also be in charge of Admin Re.

Thomas Wellauer is the new COO while David Cole will join Swiss Re next month to take over the role of CRO. He replaces Raj Singh, who will leave the company in February.

Michel Liès, currently Chief Marketing Officer, will take up a new position as Chairman Global Partnerships.
