Premium pricing for global directors’ and officers’ liability insurance (D&O) has fallen for the ninth consecutive quarter, according to the latest report from Aon Risk Solutions.

For the three months to September 30, Aon’s pricing index – which compares prices to the base year of 2001 – dropped to 0.7 from 0.78 in the corresponding period last year.

It is the lowest value since the pricing index started in 2006. The average price for $US1 million ($1.38 million) in limits also dropped, by 10.3%.

There have been only two quarterly increases in the pricing index in the past 15 quarters.
