September 11 – nothing much left to say
Tomorrow marks the first anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks on the United States. A year down the track, the international repercussions of that terrible day are still being felt. Your newspapers and TV are already churning out thousands of articles related to September 11 and it would be foolish for us to try to compete. We’ll have a report on the local and international impacts on the insurance industry in the October edition of Insurance & Risk Professional.
In the meantime, as the media searches for more graphic ways to illustrate the enormity of the World Trade Centre attacks, the advice of Laura Bush, wife of the US President, is worth considering. She suggests people just leave their TVs off and get on with life. All we would add to that is that you take a moment to contemplate the loss of so many industry colleagues killed in the World Trade Centre attack
