French reinsurer Scor has reported a first-quarter profit of €166 million ($266.23 million), up 18.6% on the corresponding period last year.

Gross written premium increased 0.9% to €3.77 billion ($6.05 billion) for the quarter.

The property and casualty combined operating ratio improved to 91.8% from 94.5%

Investment income across property and casualty and life dropped 11.2%, to €134 million ($215 million).
