Scor goes for a rights issue
After increasing reserves to accommodate some long-term claims, French reinsurer Scor has reported a net loss of $565 million for the first nine months of 2003. Now it’s going for a $971 million rights issue on top of the $617 million it raised in a rights issue last year. Standard & Poor’s immediately lowered its long-term ratings of Scor to BBB- from BBB+.
