Rise in estimated property claims from Sept 11
New figures released by the Insurance Services Office in New York estimate that the Sept 11 attacks will cost property insurers more than $40 billion – 22% more than first estimated. But it will change again, anyway.
The figure excludes liability, workers’ compensation, aviation and life and health insurance from the estimate. As the number of claims continues to rise, the ISO is confident about one thing: the estimate will rise again.
