Former Zurich chief claims officer for Australia and New Zealand Daniel Franzetti has been appointed chief claims officer at QBE North America.

He will be based in New York, reporting to QBE North America CEO Dave Duclos. He will also sit on the executive management board.

Mr Franzetti unexpectedly left his role at Zurich last September and returned home to the US. insuranceNEWS.com.au reported at the time that Zurich had declined to say whether he would continue to work with Zurich.

The answer would now appear clear, with Mr Franzetti snapped up by QBE North America.

Before moving to Australia Mr Franzetti was the Chicago-based senior VP of claims technical shared services for Zurich North America.
