QBE Aviation gives something back

US-based QBE Aviation will pay a 22% “good experience return” to the Independent Fixed Base Operators Association’s workers’ compensation scheme.

Under the good experience return plan, staff are handed back a portion of their premiums after losses and administration costs are paid.

Association members will receive five good experience return payments this year, QBE Aviation Senior VP Michael Clark says.

John Wraga, a director of the association, says the program’s underwriting focuses on loss control and aviation safety.

“This is certainly a benefit our members can appreciate and it more than pays for their membership,” he said.

Mr Wraga says savings are unusual and most workers’ compensation insurance professionals estimate rates will soon increase.

QBE Aviation and the association launched the program in August last year. It is run by AirSure, one of the world’s largest brokers specialising in the business aviation market.
