A former IT specialist has been appointed President and CEO of major international broker Assurex Global. James R Hackbarth is “ideally suited”, according to Kym Bermingham, Group MD of local partner company ZIB Insurance Brokers.

Assurex brings together 12000 industry professionals on five continents. Its “global partners” are managed by their owners. ZIB, formerly Zuellig Insurance Brokers, is Australia’s largest privately owned insurance broking group. It was bought from its Swiss owners in a management buyout a couple of years ago.
