Marsh & McLennan Companies (MMC) has appointed former Benfield CEO David Spiller as CEO of the group’s global risk and reinsurance specialty business Guy Carpenter.

Mr Spiller is President of Guy Carpenter and a member of its executive committee and management board. He will take over the position from CEO Salvatore Zaffino – who will continue as Chairman – from next month.

Before joining Guy Carpenter in January this year Mr Spiller was CEO of Benfield in London, where he was responsible for business outside the US.
