Names lose last stand

A last-ditch effort by rebel Lloyd’s names to use Britain’s Human Rights Act to bring a case against the market has failed. A British court threw the case out last week. The Names – Lloyd’s investors, many of whom lost their shirts on asbestos claims in the early 1990s – have been fighting Lloyd’s since 1996 to avoid payment.
