Marsh still leads the world of broking
It's becoming an annual story of market domination. US industry journal Business Insurance has again confirmed Marsh is the world's leading insurance brokerage. It is the 36th year in a row that the New York-based group - a unit of Marsh & McLennan (MMC) - has topped the rankings.
Marsh enjoyed $US10.474 billion ($11.87 billion) in revenue from broking and related services during the 2006 calendar year - close to the combined weight of its three largest rivals.
Chairman and CEO Brian Storms says that relative strength is a product of the company's skilled and loyal staff. "We're proud that the numbers validate our industry leadership," he said. "But the main reason clients choose Marsh more than any other broker is our people."
Marsh has some 26,000 employees working in more than 100 countries around the world. "Their expertise and passion for serving clients is better than anyone else," Mr Storms said.
