Marsh posts strong 2010 and quarterly results
Marsh & McLennan Companies (MMC) has posted a strong return for 2010, recording a 7% increase on the previous year’s result to $US10.6 billion ($10.4 billion).
The end of year and fourth-quarter results posted last week also show a 9% jump in profit in the last quarter compared to the corresponding period in 2009.
Marsh, MCC’s largest division, recorded a 6% rise in revenue in the fourth quarter to $US1.3 billion ($1.28 billion), while its international operations recorded an 8% revenue rise. The Asia-Pacific and Latin America operations pushed its fourth-quarter revenue up 10%.
For the full year Marsh recorded $US4.7 billion ($4.64 billion) revenue, which also represents a 10% increase.
CEO Brian Duperreault says “robust new business development” has contributed to the group’s “revenue growth across all geographies”.
