Marsh has appointed former AIG commercial insurance CEO John Doyle as President, effective from April 15.

Mr Doyle will report to CEO and Chairman of Risk and Insurance Services Peter Zaffino, and will be based in New York.

He will oversee the global brokerage businesses and join Marsh’s executive committee, plus the executive committee of Marsh & McLennan Companies.

“I look forward to working closely with John to deliver superior value to our clients and to further distinguish Marsh as the industry leader,” Mr Zaffino said.

Mr Doyle has more than two decades of management and operational experience.

In his most recent position at AIG he was responsible for property and casualty, financial lines, specialty lines, institutional markets and mortgage guaranty products and services.

He previously served as president and CEO of Chartis US.

Marsh & McLennan Companies President and CEO Dan Glaser says Mr Doyle is “a highly accomplished and talented executive” and an “outstanding addition”.
